Seven students from four local schools, took part in the final of the Young Chef Competition, organised by Wycombe Rotary Club, and hosted by the Royal Grammar School.

Wycombe based celebrity chef, Phil Vickery, was on hand to carry out the judging, and was impressed by the high standard of both cooking and presentation.

The students had to prepare a meal for two, consisting of a main course and a dessert, with a budget of £15, a preparation time of 30 minutes and a cooking time of 90 minutes.

The overall winner was Qasim Mahmood from the Royal Grammer School, with Rory Spence representing John Hampden in second place. Joint third place was awarded to Hattie Dore representing Princes Risborough School and Afsansa Uddin representing Wycombe High.

The Young Chef competition is organised annually, and it is hoped that more schools from the local area will participate in the 2024/25 competition.
